Nearly 8,000 soldiers and 150 units of aircraft: US and Israel join efforts to conduct largest military drills in history
On Monday, January 23, the US and Israel began the largest joint military drills in history, with the threat from Iran looming, CNN reports
According to CNN, 100 American units of aircraft - fighter jets, bombers and refueling planes - and 42 Israeli ones will take part in the exercises called Juniper Oak. The strike group of the US Navy aircraft carrier USS George H. W. Bush will also be involved in the exercises; they will cover all areas of warfare, including space and electronic warfare.
It is noted that these are the largest US-Israeli military exercises in history.
They are organized and managed by the US Central Command. Almost 6,500 American and more than 1,100 Israeli servicemen are involved.
The exercises will take place amid the tense relations between the United States and Iran. The administration of President Joe Biden imposed sanctions on Tehran after the brutal suppression of protests in the country and the execution of their participants. Negotiations on a new nuclear deal have also reached an impasse.
It should be noted that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly taken a strong stance on the issue of Tehran and promises to "thwart Iran's attempts to obtain nuclear weapons” after the new government is established.

▪ In mid-January, it was also reported that the USA provides Ukraine with ammunition stored in warehouses in Israel.
