Soldiers of the Special Operations Forces (SOF) under the Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully repelled an assault by North Korean troops in the Kursk direction, eliminating 18 DPRK servicemen

According to the press service of the SOF, the confrontation lasted from morning until night. During the battle, rangers with Ukraine’s 6th Regiment of the Special Forces neutralized 17 DPRK soldiers, while another combatant detonated a grenade, taking his own life.
"In the morning, an SOF clearing group encountered a surviving DPRK soldier who had set an improvised trap. The soldier attempted to deceive the SOF fighters and detonate a grenade to harm them. However, when they approached, he detonated the grenade, resulting in his death," the SOF reported.
The SOF soldiers identified the danger in time and quickly evacuated the area, ensuring no Ukrainian personnel were injured during the incident.
- Over the last day, January 12, 140 combat clashes were registered on the Russian-Ukrainian front. Ukrainian troops repelled 58 Russian attacks in the Pokrovsk sector.
