If Russia captures Pokrovsk, Ukraine will lose key logistical route — Ukrainian major
NGU Major Dmytro Kozhubenko of the Rubizh Brigade notes that Russian forces have not withdrawn reserves from the Lyman-Bakhmut direction to Kursk
He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.
“For the Lyman-Bakhmut direction, the capture of Pokrovsk by Russians means the loss of another important logistics route. For Ukraine, it will also mean the loss of another major city,” emphasized Kozhubenko.
According to the officer with the Rubizh brigade, Russia has not withdrawn reserves from the Lyman-Bakhmut direction to the Kursk region.
“The Russians continue to conduct assault or offensive actions - sometimes with larger, sometimes smaller units. Therefore, we do not observe a significant decrease in their activity. There is no information that they are redeploying their forces from our direction," explained Kozhubenko.
The major also added that the Rubizh brigade is holding its ground and preventing the Russian forces from advancing in the areas where they are currently conducting assault operations.
- Since the beginning of the day on August 22, 78 combat clashes have taken place in the frontline. Russian forces are attacking in 10 directions, most actively in the Pokrovsk direction.
