Military expert Katkov describes scenarios for Ukrainian Armed Forces' strikes on Crimean airfield
There are several scenarios for the Ukrainian Armed Forces' strike on the airfield near the city of Saky in temporarily Russia-occupied Crimea
Oleh Katkov, editor-in-chief of Defense Express, shared the details with Espreso TV.
"I can repeat the most likely options: either ATACMS missiles, or we managed to complete the Sapsan missile complex, because it was already 80% ready by 2021, according to the statement of former Defense Minister Taran. We have 1.5 years to complete this development", he said.
According to the expert, Ukraine could also rework the Neptun coastal missile complex.
"The third option is a modified Neptune. This is indicated by the fact that the Saky airfield is a target located close to the sea, and in fact, the development of the Neptune for the destruction of ground targets was also carried out. There remains one more option - the actions of the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces. "Kamikaze drones and Bayraktars can be ruled out due to the low power of explosives. And there was exactly 200 kg of explosives", Katkov concluded.
