Melitopol liberation blocks Russia’s weapons and ammunition supply - Zgurets

"The largest concentration of Russian forces is located in Melitopol. The enemy fears that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will start conducting operations against Melitopol in order to cut this area off. It is almost impossible to supply weapons to the Russian army through the Kerch bridge, that’s why all supply lines lie from the Russian mainland. The liberation of Melitopol will destroy the supply line in the zone Melitopol and block the Russian army’s ability to supply ammunition and other means from Russia," Zgurets noted.

According to the expert, AFU’s further actions will depend on realistic assessments of their capabilities and means and understanding the situation on the three priority directions.

"AFU’s possible options include continuing hostilities in the Svatove - Kreminna zone, or blocking Russian actions around Bakhmut and Avdiivka, or preparing for a counteroffensive, which will play the decisive role in ensure control over Melitopol as the center and key to the liberation of the South," explained Zgurets.
