Medvedev threatens to assassinate US senator
Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has responded to comments by US Republican Senator Lindsey Graham about the best use of money as being helping Ukraine physically destroy invading Russian forces
Medvedev made this statement public on Telegram on Sunday, May 28, 2023.
“That old fool, Senator Lindsey Graham, said that money had never been better spent than on killing Russians. He was wrong. In his beloved America, not only ordinary people are regularly killed, but dirty money is also spent on the assassination of senators,” Dmitry Medvedev wrote.
At the same time, the former Russian president listed examples of high-profile assassinations of political figures in the United States.
“Let him (Graham - ed.) recall the sad fate of Robert Kennedy, Huey Long, Clementa Carlos Pinckney, John Milton Elliott, Wayne Owens, and other American politicians,” Medvedev said.

On May 26, US Senator Lindsey Graham arrived in Kyiv to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The parties discussed the situation at the front, further cooperation, and military assistance to Ukraine.
During the talks, Graham emphasized that the invading Russian troops were dying and that this was the best use of money by the American government. These words of the American politician outraged the Russian authorities and propagandists the most.
The senator added that the United States will continue to support Ukraine.
Zelenskyy, in turn, thanked Graham for his contribution to strengthening the defense capabilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin voiced the conditions under which Russia could agree to a cessation of hostilities and peace talks. According to the Russian official, Ukraine must abandon its intention to join the EU and NATO, enshrine the state status of the Russian language in legislation, and respect the right to freedom of religion. By the latter, Russia usually means the activities of the Moscow Patriarchate.
