Mandatory evacuation from Donetsk region: over 100,000 people move to safe regions
Since August 2022, when the mandatory evacuation of certain communities in Donetsk region began, more than 100,000 people have been moved to safe regions

The press service of the Ministry of Reintegration reported.
Among those evacuated are more than 13,200 children and more than 4,800 people with reduced mobility.
"Currently, evacuations from the Donetsk region are carried out by a special train to the Zhytomyr region once every 8 days. Upon arrival, the evacuees receive financial assistance," the agency reminded.
They noted that in the Zhytomyr region, internally displaced persons are accommodated in free shelters and provided with humanitarian, legal and psychological assistance.
Evacuation is free of charge.
- In March 2023, the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers approved a mechanism for the forced evacuation of children accompanied by a parent or other legal representative from areas of active hostilities.
- On October 23, a decision was made to conduct a forced evacuation of children from 8 settlements in the Bakhmut and Pokrovsk districts of Donetsk region.
