Man dies of gas poisoning due to generators operation, two children are injured in Kyiv region
In two communities of Kyiv region, six people were poisoned by carbon monoxide: 61-year-old man died, condition of two children worsened
Communication department of Kyiv region police and Andriy Nebytov, head of the State Department of Kyiv region, reports.
On the evening of November 24, family used generator in residential building in Buchansk district. Police say 61-year-old man died of carbon monoxide poisoning and 52-year-old woman was hospitalized.
In two hours, police received information about possible gas poisoning of a family from Hostomel.
"First, 72-year-old grandmother became ill, then 4-year-old granddaughter. The condition of the eldest - a 12-year-old girl and her 48-year-old father - also worsened," Andriy Nebitov wrote on Telegram.
The grandmother and granddaughter were hospitalized: doctors confirmed carbon monoxide poisoning.
"Police of Kyiv region once again warns: do not neglect instructions for operation of electric generators and other systems that help you survive power outage. Timely service and check the heating, gas appliances, and ventilation systems! Take care of your life and health and your loved ones!", Main Directorate of National Police in Kyiv region emphasized.
