Major minefields already passed: Ukrainian Armed Forces fighter on the situation in south
Ihor Hannenko, a soldier of the 47th separate mechanized brigade, noted that after the breakthrough of the main Russian defense line in the south, there were fewer minefields
He said this on the air of the Espreso TV channel.
"After we passed the main enemy defense line, there are actually fewer minefields. Of course, we are not advancing as fast as we would like. The Russian forces are trying to create new minefields on the likely routes of our advance. This creates certain problems, but it is no longer on the same scale as before," emphasized Mr. Hannenko.
According to the soldier, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have already overcome the main minefields in the south.
"We are able to interact more effectively with enemy mines. We already have the opportunity to drive around, conduct additional reconnaissance and find out exactly where the minefields are located and in which direction we should move forward. We have already passed the main minefields. I hope that there will be fewer and fewer of them in the future," emphasized Hannenko.
- The Institute for the Study of War writes that the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue their offensive in the west of Zaporizhzhia region and have advanced to the Russian fortifications in the village of Verbove.
