Lithuanian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief says what can stop Russia's preparations for new offensive against Ukraine
Lithuanian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Valdemaras Rupšys believes Russia is preparing for a new offensive against Ukraine, and only the latest Western weapons can stop it
He said this in an interview with Guildhall.
“According to my assessment, NATO countries, Ukraine's partners, have realized that the war will last a long time and there is no other option but to support Ukraine,” Rupšys said.
“Especially after the Russian mobilization, because now even a blind person can see that they are preparing for the next wave of offensive. And they may stop or change their plans only if they see that Ukraine has at its disposal a sufficient amount, equipment, ammunition, weapons and trained personnel,” he added.
According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Lithuanian army, Russia has plenty of its own resources and also receives support from India and China.
“We must keep in mind that Russia has all the conditions to provide its own army with ammunition, tanks, combat vehicles - they can fight, they also have enough aviation,” the general emphasized.
