Lithuania to provide Ukraine with additional armored personnel carriers, ammunition
The Lithuanian Ministry of Defense is going to transfer additional M113 and M577 armored personnel carriers and ammunition to Ukraine
European Pravda informs about this.
"In the near future, Lithuania will provide Ukraine with additional military support - M113 and M577 armored personnel carriers, which are very much needed by Ukraine, as well as ammunition, which is necessary for the preparation of the reserve", Lithuanian Defense Minister Arvydas Anusauskas said this at a meeting of the NATO Coordination Group for Ukraine Support.
Anusauskas also stated that due to the given number of M113, this armored vehicle is becoming a significant part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and Lithuania contributes to this to a large extent.
He also drew attention to the role of countries that support Ukraine in organizing the training of the soldiers of the Armed Forces. Lithuania offers to organize extensive military training of the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"Ukraine has identified the main needs for courses, and the Lithuanian army is ready to respond to them. Currently, there is a request for the training of military policemen and demining specialists. The Lithuanian army will also contribute to the large-scale training of Ukrainian personnel in the United Kingdom by sending instructors there", Anusauskas said.
Lithuania's military support package includes Stinger air defense systems, anti-tank weapons, body armor and helmets, 120 mm mortars, small arms, ammunition, thermal imagers, drones, anti-drones, surveillance radars, M113 armored personnel carriers, trucks, SUVs, as well as the Bayraktar TB2 drone with ammunition, which was bought with funds collected by Lithuanians.
