Leopard 2A tanks made for Hungary will probably go to Ukraine - military expert Kyrychevskyi
Defense Express military expert Ivan Kyrychevskyi believes that Berlin may transfer to Ukraine 44 Leopard 2A7 tanks contracted for Hungary
He expressed his opinion on Espreso TV.
“Of course, Germany will transfer Leopard 2A tanks to Ukraine. Since the very decision to transfer the Marder IFVs to Ukraine is a hint that Germany is preparing to transfer tanks to Ukraine,” Kyrychevskyi explained.
A military expert believes that Germany and Hungary are negotiating to delay the delivery of German tanks to Budapest.
“I believe that the Leopard 2A tanks for Ukraine will be taken from Hungary. After all, just yesterday there was information that the German concern Rheinmetall signed a huge contract with Hungary for the construction of a plant for the production of ammunition. This contract may be part of the negotiations that are currently taking place. In particular, Berlin will not pay attention to some actions and statements of the Hungarian authorities, and instead they will have to wait their turn in the supply of Leopard 2A tanks. Therefore, the contracted 44 Leopard 2A7 tanks for Hungary may go to Ukraine,” he added.
