Czech president calls for coalition for just peace in Ukraine

He made the statement on X.

The Czech leader stressed that now is the time to consider forming a broad coalition to pursue a just peace in Ukraine.

“‘Peace’ on terms of the aggressor is called a capitulation and would only encourage all current and future aggressors. Free world must stand up to the evil,” Pavel said.

The Czech president's comment came after an altercation between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and American leader Donald Trump in the Oval Office.

The Czech president's comment came after an altercation in the Oval Office on February 28 between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, American leader Donald Trump, and U.S. Vice President J. D. Vance. 

Later, it was reported that the joint press conference between Zelenskyy and Trump had been canceled.

Following the dispute at the White House, European leaders and U.S. politicians began expressing support for Zelenskyy and Ukraine.

Meanwhile, White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt announced the U.S. government's intention to halt military and financial assistance to Ukraine.

Although it was Trump who ultimately canceled the February 28 meeting with Zelenskyy in Washington, D.C., U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio is now demanding an apology from the Ukrainian president.

Meanwhile, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and Polish President Andrzej Duda have urged Volodymyr Zelenskyy to restore his relationship with Trump.
