Leak of classified Pentagon documents is real – SBU Colonel Kostenko
Roman Kostenko, Ukrainian MP, Secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Colonel, believes that the priority is finding out how deep and controlled the leak is
He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.
The SBU colonel commented on the leak of classified US military documents about the war in Ukraine.
"Based on what I see and from my communication with people, including from the special services, this is a real leak. The question is how deep this leak is, and how much it was controlled, or whether it is the work of Russian intelligence. There was a leak, and Russian intelligence made some adjustments to these documents and published them to try to disrupt our plans. Again, the question is how deeply they know everything, as well as how often, whether it has been a one-time thing, they receive this information, whether they still have access to it," said the Secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence.
Kostenko added that the US did not claim that it was disinformation and untruth, but continued to investigate.
"Those who had this leak say they will investigate how serious it is. I think this is a blow to the credibility of the US and NATO, so they will look into it at the state level, as well as at the level of special services. As for the impact of this leak on Ukraine, if it is indeed determined that the information is correct, we will have to adjust our plans for some actions, whether offensive or defensive, and change the schemes for replenishing our ammunition. Let's just say that this is serious and could lead to a major scandal. The main thing is to know whether the enemy has the ability to continue to obtain this information," Kostenko said.
