Klimkin decodes simultaneous dismissal of US, EU ambassadors in Russia
Ukraine's former Foreign Affairs Minister, Pavlo Klimkin, says that the simultaneous dismissal of the US and EU ambassadors to Russia signals that there will be no return to the previous Western policy towards Moscow
Klimkin wrote about this on Facebook.
"The ambassadors of the US and the EU in Russia left their posts. Synchronously and almost simultaneously. This is a simple and powerful signal - there will be no return to the previous policy. The Kremlin wanted to define world geopolitics, but it became a geopolitical misunderstanding. Having North Korea and Syria as allies is all that's left. China will continue to use Russia, but there is no talk of any kind of partnership," Klimkin emphasized.
He expressed his conviction that limiting the import of Russian energy carriers and their prices - oil, and in the future also gas - will break the Russian mafia.
"The Russian elites understand more and more how serious everything is. That is why they are speaking more and more loudly about negotiations. But there will never be a return to the previous reality. Not only the West, but also the whole world must prepare for a reboot of the Russian regime. There will be no return to previous diplomacy. Any negotiations on Western terms, and we are actually part of the West, this is the signal for the simultaneous dismissal of the ambassadors," Klimkin emphasized.
