Joint decision on delivery of tanks and heavy weapons to Ukraine will be made - Klimkin

He expressed this opinion live on air of the Espreso TV channel.

"I am almost sure that a decision to provide tanks and heavy weapons to Ukraine will be made. Discussions in the West regarding this military aid have been going on for quite a long time. And these are discussions under what conditions this aid should be provided and what it will give Ukraine on the battlefield. Therefore, this decision will be made. However, there may be some nuances to this," Klimkin explained.

Diplomat emphasized the importance of transferring tanks and heavy weapons to Ukraine.

"Most likely, the decision to provide Ukraine with tanks will be a joint one. Berlin really wants this. It will be something like a tank coalition, which for some reason Berlin likes to call it a tank consortium. However, we don't care what it will be called. The main thing is that we received weapons that will help us defeat the Russian Federation," he added.

• On January 11, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with leaders of Poland and Lithuania Andrzej Duda and Gitanas Nausėda in Lviv. Duda said that a company of Leopard tanks will be transferred to Ukraine as part of the creation of an international coalition.

• Finland can transfer Leopard tanks to Ukraine if other countries do it first and a corresponding project to help Ukraine at European level is launched.
