Iskander rocket launcher equivalent with up to 500 km range: Ukrainian rockets could hit Crimean airfield
According to military expert Petro Chernyk, Russian bombers took off from this airfield and launched missiles at Ukrainian cities without flying into Ukraine's airspace
This is reported by Espreso.West.
"The explosions at the airfield in Crimea are incredibly good news," comments military expert Petro Chernyk. "Russian Su-24 and Su-30 bombers were based there. They launched Kh-31 and Kh-59 missiles. Now the level of missile strikes from the Russian Federation".
What caused the large-scale explosions in Crimea is currently unknown. Officially, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine does not confirm missile strikes from our side. However, information began to spread in the mass media that the destruction at the airfield was caused by missiles of the operational-tactical missile complex Grim. The installation is under development by the Southern design bureau. According to Petro Chernyk, the Ukrainians really have the capacity to develop such missile systems, but so far there has been no official information that they are in service with the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
"Grim is a very serious weapon," adds Petro Chernyk. "This is a large rocket launcher, the range of which can reach up to 500 kilometers. This is an analogue of the Iskander missile complex, which Russia uses in Ukrainian cities. Officially, the Ukrainian army does not have these weapons, and the Ministry of Defense does not confirm the use of the installations. But it is known about the destruction of at least nine Russian planes. So now, due to "misfires", the Russians have less combat aircraft."
