Due to the operation of high-precision artillery systems, the Ukrainian Armed Forces can inflict concentrated strikes on the invading Russian forces' command posts and rear positions

This is stated in a BBC research.

At the end of June, the first batch of HIMARS rocket launcher systems from Western partners arrived in Ukraine. The increase in the efficiency of the Ukrainian artillery affected, in particular, the statistics of losses among the officers of the Russian army.

The number of dead Russian officers gradually decreased from 20% (in March and April) to 17% in June and July. After the arrival of high-precision artillery systems in Ukraine, a trend of increasing numbers is observed. This is associated with the possibility of more accurate strikes on the rear positions of the enemy, where there is a large concentration of leadership.

In general, on July 22, the BBC service together with the publication Mediazona confirmed the death of 4,940 Russian soldiers, 852 of them - officers. The Russian army has lost more than 80 people from the leadership team in the last two weeks, in particular, 10 colonels.

The Russian army suffered heavy losses in the air - at least 50 military pilots. The training of one sniper pilot takes from 15 to 17 years and costs the state about USD 12-14 million.

By type of military, Russia lost the most representatives of the infantry and landing forces - roughly 20% of the total number of dead. As for the regions, in the Ukrainian-Russian war, Dagestan had the most casualties - 245 people. Only 11 killed Russian servicemen had Moscow residence permits.

It should be emphasized that the BBC research is based exclusively on confirmed Russian military personnel, whose names have been established from open sources. At the same time, US intelligence counted 15,000 dead and three times as many wounded. But the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of July 22, calls the figure 39,000 destroyed enemy manpower.
