If Ukraine asks for tanks, give them tanks - Ursula von der Leyen in interview with Bild
The President of the European Commission opposes Germany's position of looking for reasons to refuse to supply battle tanks to Ukraine
Ursula von der Leyen stated this in an interview with Bild.
"If they (Ukrainians. - Ed.) say they need battle tanks, then we should take it seriously and provide them," said the president of the European Commission.
She added that Ukraine knows exactly what it needs "to protect people and itself."
"I support European countries supplying what Ukraine really needs. After all, Ukrainians are proving that they can defend themselves if they have the right military means," said Ursula von der Leyen.
"I am firmly convinced that Ukraine will win, and Putin will lose. Ukraine has extraordinary motivation. They know what they are fighting for. And friends around the world are doing everything to ensure that Ukraine receives the appropriate weapons systems," president of European Commission said.
