If AFU receive shells from Boeing, they will destroy Russian depots, command posts even more effectively - Poroshenko
On the air of the American MSNBC TV channel, Petro Poroshenko welcomed the proposal of the Boeing Corporation to supply Ukraine with high-precision projectiles with a range of up to 150 kilometers
He noted that this would make it possible to destroy Russian military depots and command posts and eventually expel the invaders from Ukrainian land.
“We need ammunition for our artillery because it's a whole new, different kind of war. It's an artillery war, a drone war, an air war. That's why we need jet fighters. It's a defensive weapon. We just have to prevent Russia from dominating our airspace. For artillery, we need long-range, very high-precision ammunition. And I welcome the announcement by the Boeing Corporation that they are capable of supplying us with artillery weapons with a range of about 100 miles,” Petro Poroshenko said.
“We demonstrate that Ukrainian soldiers use this extremely effectively. This is necessary in order to destroy the Russian material and technical base, ammunition warehouses, and Russian command posts, as well as expel Russians from Ukrainian land, from our sovereign and independent country,” Poroshenko emphasized.
“Our hospitals, kindergartens, and schools are now running on generators, and we absolutely urgently need converters, generators, and spare parts to repair our system. But at the same time - and I said this in Washington - along with spare parts for our power system, we need anti-aircraft defense. Because we know that Russia has new cruise missiles in the Black Sea, on its territory and on the territory of Belarus. And as soon as we restore the electricity supply with the help of spare parts, Russian cruise missiles will arrive. We are not afraid - it even mobilizes us. We are determined, but with air defense we will not give the crazy maniac Putin any chance to put pressure on Ukraine, Europe, the entire democratic world, and our freedom,” Poroshenko emphasized.
