Handcuffs, shackles, prayer on the wall: another torture chamber found in newly liberated Kharkiv region
Ukrainian law enforcement officers have found another torture chamber set up by the invading Russian forces in the city of Vovchansk, Kharkiv region
This is reported by the Ukrainian National Police's press service.
According to the agency, on the territory of one of the enterprises, the Russian soldiers set up a prison and a torture chamber for local residents who did not support the invading Russian forces and refused to cooperate with them.
According to witnesses, the Russian military held from 20 to 40 people in one cell of about 12 square meters.
The police reported that torture instruments, shackles, handcuffs, etc. were found in the premises. In this place, the Russian forces mercilessly beat illegal prisoners, tortured them with electric currents, pulled out nails, and broke their fingers. The dates of people's stay are recorded on the walls of the torture chamber with inhumane conditions of detention. Moreover, one of the prisoners engraved a prayer in one of the cells.
Police officers work with the local population that was under occupation and identify victims who were illegally held by the Russian occupiers in the torture chamber-prison.
