Germany is negotiating on Gepard SPAAGs transfer to Ukraine — Spiegel
Germany wants to supply Ukraine with additional Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns and is negotiating with two countries that have the relevant stocks, as well as ammunition for them
Spiegel writes about it.
According to the report, in addition to the Marder infantry fighting vehicle and the Patriot system, the federal government also wants to supply Ukraine with additional Gepard anti-aircraft systems and is negotiating with two countries that still have stocks of Gepard and a large number of 35 mm ammunition.
"There is no agreement yet, but Berlin is cautiously confident that more Gepards may be delivered to Ukraine in the coming months," the newspaper writes.
The media notes that Gepards, which Germany handed over to Ukraine last year, proved to be very effective on the battlefield, especially in the fight against drones. Therefore, the new delivery can significantly strengthen the Ukrainian air defense, journalists emphasize.
In the next package of military aid, Ukraine may receive from the United States Sea Sparrow anti-aircraft missiles with radar guidance for the first time.
