Full deployment of two NASAMS batteries can be expected in November - Ukraine’s military expert
Defense Express military expert Valerii Riabykh says that the adaptation of NASAMS for use in Ukraine began earlier, because the systems include Sentinel radars, which were delivered at the beginning of this summer
This is reported by Espreso TV.
“NASAMS is one of the most modern anti-aircraft missile systems and, in terms of its characteristics, is the same as the German IRIS-T systems. When using some types of missiles, NASAMS can operate at a range of up to 80-120 km. These systems are in service in 11 world countries, including Ukraine. Four more countries are conducting negotiations. The efficiency of these complexes is proved by the fact that they protect the White House,” the military expert noted.
Valerii Riabykh explained that the adaptation of these systems for use in Ukraine began a long time ago, because the NASAMS include Sentinel radars, which arrived at the beginning of the summer of this year and are integrated into the general air defense system to work out communications with all systems, which are currently in use.
“As you know, two NASAMS batteries are still at the stage of delivery, but according to information from the manufacturer, these complexes have been transferred to the United States. And full deployment can be expected as early as next month. NASAMS complexes will be a significant addition to our air defense,” Riabykh emphasized.
