Ukraine's Permanent Representative to the UN, Sergiy Kyslytsya, reported this on Twitter.

"The General Assembly adopted a resolution on cooperation between the UN and the Council of Europe with 122 votes in favour and 5 votes against. Russia's attempt to remove the reference to aggression against Ukraine failed in the GA. The resolution was voted against by 5 well-known human rights activists – Russia, Belarus, Nicaragua, Syria, and the DPRK," Kyslytsia wrote.

The photo with the voting results shows that he was referring to Resolution A/77/L.65 on UN cooperation with the Council of Europe, which is adopted annually. The 2023 version contains a reference to Russian aggression against Ukraine and Georgia.

"Recognizing also that the unprecedented challenges now facing Europe following the aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine, and against Georgia prior to that, and the cessation of the membership of the Russian Federation in the Council of Europe, call for strengthened cooperation between the United Nations and the Council of Europe, notably in order to promptly restore and maintain peace and security based on respect of the sovereignty, territorial integrity and political independence of any State, ensure the observance of human rights and international humanitarian law during the hostilities, provide redress to victims and bring to justice all those responsible for the violations of international law..."

The document was adopted on April 26.

  • On April 26, Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a telephone conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The Chinese leader said that a representative of the Chinese government would arrive in Ukraine.

  • Also on April 26, Zelenskyy appointed Ukraine's ambassador to China. Pavlo Riabikin became the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the People's Republic of China.
