Zelenskyy holds phone call with Xi Jinping, China's envoy will come to Ukraine
Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a telephone conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping, the Chinese leader said that a representative of his government would arrive in Ukraine

According to the Chinese president, the government representative will arrive for in-depth communication with all parties to the conflict, for its further settlement.
"Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Wednesday that China will send a special representative of the Chinese government on Eurasian affairs to visit Ukraine and other countries to conduct in-depth communication with all parties on the political settlement of the Ukraine crisis," the statement said.
CNN journalists, citing a briefing by the Chinese Foreign Ministry, reported that Li Hui, the Chinese government's special representative for Eurasia, will be its representative in Ukraine and "other countries." Li is a former Chinese ambassador to Russia, who held this position from 2009 to 2019.
It is noted that the ministry did not provide additional details on when Li will travel and what other countries he will visit.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on his phone conversation with Xi Jinping on Twitter.
"I had a long and meaningful phone call with Chinese President Xi Jinping. I believe that this call, as well as the appointment of Ukraine's ambassador to China, will give a powerful impetus to the development of our bilateral relations," the statement said.
Later, on Telegram, the president wrote that during the hour-long conversation, the leaders discussed topical issues for a just and sustainable peace in Ukraine. In particular, Volodymyr Zelenskyy once again emphasized that Ukraine's territorial integrity should be restored within the 1991 borders.
“We also discussed ways to strengthen the Ukrainian-Chinese partnership. Before the full-scale Russian invasion, China was Ukraine's number one trading partner. I believe that our conversation today will give a powerful impetus to return, maintain and develop this dynamic at all levels,” he added.
