First meeting of financial ‘Ramstein’ takes place: details
On Thursday, January 26, Ukraine held the first financial Ramstein online meeting with international partners
This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.
He outlined key tasks for international partners:
-
Ensuring predictable, rhythmic budget support in 2023.
"We have €18 billion from the EU and almost $10 billion from the United States. We expect to finance the difference in the deficit with the help of the IMF," Shmyhal said.
-
Plan and ensure the start of Ukraine's recovery.
"For this purpose, the government has identified four priorities: restoration of the energy sector, humanitarian demining, reconstruction of housing, critical and social infrastructure," the prime minister emphasized.
-
Coordination of financial instruments to support the economy and the private sector (war risk insurance, public-private partnerships, assistance in financing small business support projects).
As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the creation of a financial ‘Ramstein’ on October 12, 2022.
