Father and his 7-year-old son explode on a mine in Kharkiv region
In a forest in the Kharkiv region, 2 civilians, a father and a son going on a fishing trip, blew up on an explosive device.
This was reported by the head of the Kharkiv regional military administration Oleh Syniehubov.
"A 47-year-old man and a 7-year-old boy were blown up by an explosive device in the village of Buhaivka, Chuhuyiv district. Both received explosive injuries and were hospitalized. Now doctors are providing them with all the necessary assistance," he wrote.
The head urged Kharkiv residents to be attentive and careful, especially in the de-occupied territories of the region. He warned against visiting forests and forest strips, and also advised not to go to the roadsides, due to mine danger.
The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office said that on December 28, a 47-year-old man went fishing with his 7-year-old son. While playing, the boy ran to the bushes and detonated a mine. His father ran to his aid and also suffered from an explosion.
The prosecutor's office started a pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war (part 1 of article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
As reported by Ukraine's Department of Emergency Situations in Kharkiv city and region, on December 27, pyrotechnicians conducted a survey of about 6.2 hectares of territory and 5.7 kilometers of power lines. Sappers discovered and neutralized 103 enemy mines, explosives and ammunition. Eighty-six rescuers and 34 pieces of equipment were involved in the rescue work.
