Explosion, fire on Crimean Bridge: Occupying Russian authorities report about casualties and accuse Ukraine of causing damage
A fire broke out on the Crimean bridge in Kerch on October 8, and Russian occupying authorities report on 3 casualties and accuse Ukraine of blowing it up.
This was reported by the Information Center of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
It is noted that three people died as a result of the explosion on the Crimean Bridge. In particular, these are the passengers of the car that was driving next to the truck that exploded.
In addition, the investigation allegedly established the owner of the truck — he is probably a resident of the Krasnodar Territory. Investigative actions have begun at his place of residence. According to local mass media, the man's name is Boris Yusubov. At the same time, relatives claim that he sold the car, but the new owner did not re-register it in his name.
The driver of the truck, according to the employees of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate who checked him, was calm, did not arouse suspicion and showed all the documents. The trailer probably had braided film on pallets. It was fully loaded. The truck was not taken for an X-ray.
Earlier, footage of the fire on the Crimean Bridge was published on social networks. According to local media, an explosion was heard there.
Oleg Kryuchkov, adviser to the head of the occupying power of Crimea, said that the fire broke out in one of the sections of the bridge. According to him, the fuel tank is on fire. Traffic on the road bridge is stopped.
"The navigable arches are not damaged. It is too early to talk about the causes and consequences. Work is underway to extinguish the fire," Kryuchkov wrote in a telegram.
The video shows that the road surface of the bridge is destroyed, and tanks are burning on the railway branch.
