Diplomat Chaly about Rammstein 9: political decision on some weapons is probably already there
Valeriy Chaly, diplomat, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine, Chairman of the Board of Ukraine Crisis Media Center, noted that this meeting takes place on the eve of the final turning point in this war
He expressed this opinion on Espreso.
"We were expecting the ninth meeting, and the first conclusions have already been drawn. And I have also made my conclusions. The first is that there were 54 countries, and this is really a serious power. All of these countries are involved in military and technical support for Ukraine. It is not only NATO or the EU, but also countries from Africa and Asia, so it is a powerful coalition that is growing as the Ukrainian Armed Forces succeed. The second thing is that this is the first Rammstein meeting I can remember, although it was held in Brussels, where less was said than decided, and it was felt. If you read carefully between the lines, I can make the following conclusion: I think there is already a political decision on some systems. The reasons why it is not being announced right now are because there are still many issues to be resolved, purely technical, logistical, and many more issues when it comes to aviation and long-range missiles," the diplomat said.
Valeriy Chaly suggested that perhaps from a political point of view, neither the head of the US Department of Defense nor the Commander of the Joint Staff could possibly say anything that would outstrip the statement of US President Biden, who is planning a visit to Europe in the coming days.
"And the third point is really the confidence that there will be a Ukrainian counteroffensive in the spring, and this is openly discussed, and everyone expects the situation to change after this counteroffensive. The support of the Ukrainian people and the Armed Forces was evident, that is, this Rammstein, I would say, on the eve of the final turning point in this war," Chaly said.
