Ukrainian troops destroy 1,120 Russian soldiers, 18 tanks, 26 vehicles - General Staff

Over the past day, Ukrainian troops repelled Russian attacks in seven areas. Overall, 91 firefights took place at the front. Ukrainian Armed Forces killed 1,120 enemy soldiers

The total combat losses of the enemy from February 24, 2022 to December 7, 2023 are estimated to be:

91 combat engagements took place in the frontline over the day

In the area of the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed.

In the northeastern border area, Russian forces maintain a grouping of troops covering the state border, conducting active sabotage activities in the border areas to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increasing the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 7 enemy attacks in the vicinity of Synkivka, Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, the Defense Forces repelled 6 Russian attacks near Terny, Vesele and Rozdolivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 12 enemy attacks in the areas of Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka and Andriivka in the Donetsk region. Ukrainian defense forces continue assault operations south of Bakhmut in Donetsk region, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the enemy, and consolidating the achieved positions.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the Russian troops, who are trying to encircle Avdiivka. Ukrainian soldiers are steadfastly holding the line, inflicting significant losses on the enemy. Ukrainian defense forces successfully repelled 34 enemy attacks in the areas east of Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, Avdiivka, Sievierne, Tonenke and Pervomaiske in Donetsk region.

In the Marinka direction, the Defense Forces continue to hold back the occupying Russsian troops in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Marinka and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region. Ukrainian defenders repelled 17 attacks.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Ukrainian troops repelled one enemy attack in the area north of Novodonetske in the Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Defense Forces repelled 6 enemy attacks in the areas west of Verbove, Novoprokopivka and Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Melitopol direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, depleting the enemy along the entire frontline.

In the Kherson direction, the Defense Forces continue to hold their positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River, carry on counter-battery combat, and inflict fire on the enemy's rear.

Russian army launched 2 missile and 80 air strikes against Ukraine

Over the past day, 91 combat engagements took place. In total, Russia launched 2 missile strikes 80 airstrikes, and 85 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems at the Ukeainian troops' positions and populated areas. 

Yesterday, Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 1 Kh-59 guided missile. Also, since the beginning of the day, Russian troops have once again attacked Ukraine using 18 Shahed-136/131 UAVs. Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 15 attack UAVs.

The area suffered air strikes: Kranyi Khutir, Chernihiv region; Synkivka, Ivanivka, Pishchane, Kharkiv region; Bilohorivka, Serebryanske forestry, Luhansk region; 10 settlements in the Donetsk region; Novodarivka, Zaporizhzhia region; Tiahynka, Krynky and Lvove, Kherson region.

More than 160 settlements in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.

Defense Forces destroyed an ammunition depot and two artillery vehicles

Over the past day, the aviation of the Defense Forces launched 11 strikes on the Russian military positions, a strike on a command and control center, and 3 strikes on anti-aircraft missile systems.

Missile troops struck a helicopter, an anti-aircraft missile system, 3 manpower concentration areas, an ammunition depot, and 2 enemy artillery pieces.

  • At around 10:00 p.m. on December 6, the occupying Russian army launched attack drones from the south, moving to the west. Air defense was operating in the Khmelnytskyi region.
