China will change position in Ukraine's favor when Putin's offensive fails - Chalyi
Diplomat, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the USA (2015-2019) Valerii Chalyi says China doesn't want to enter the war on Putin's side
He said this on Espreso TV.
“There are Chinese devices at the front, but we cannot say that China is involved like Iran or North Korea. China does not want to enter this war on Putin's side to lose. They have other goals, and the Chinese are trying to regulate the intensity of the war in their own way. China supports Russia politically. Although they support the territorial integrity of Ukraine, they take a neutral position,” Chalyi said.
According to the diplomat, after the congress, Xi Jinping promised to resolve the Taiwan issue in the coming years.
“Beijing wants to take control of Taiwan. Now the question of how this will be done, whether by military means or otherwise, is not disclosed. The reform of the Chinese armed forces is going in this direction. China has long been in a relationship of competition and conflict with America. Due to US sanctions, Chinese companies that supported Russia will have problems. Now China is finalizing its position. Putin has assured China that he will take steps to correct the mistakes and go on the offensive again. When this offensive fails again, China will clearly adjust its position, and then it will be in our favor,” Chalyi emphasized.
