China plays to key players' exhaustion- Klimkin
Ukraine's Foreign Minister (2014-2019), diplomat Pavlo Klimkin, believes that China is testing the West's red lines
He said this on Espreso TV.
“China does not offer any formula for peace, China does not offer a peace plan. China has publicly come out with principles, but these principles open a Pandora's box. China wants to fix these principles. But what do these principles mean and how can they be implemented? The discussion is impossible without China, and China's ambitions are much broader. China wants to participate in discussions on European security architecture. China wants to renew the US-Russian contracts on the implementation of the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, but without China,” Klimkin explained.
According to the diplomat, China sees that the Russian regime is getting weaker and can be used and exploited.
“The situation around the possible deployment of tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus, on the one hand, contradicts China. China partially controls Lukashenko and is testing the West's red lines. It is beneficial for the Chinese to keep everyone weaker. China sees that the Russian regime is getting weaker and can be used and exploited. But China believes that by helping Ukraine, the West is also focused on the war. China will continue to play cautiously to raise the stakes and exhaust all the key players it considers competitors or enemies,” Klimkin added.
