Changes pushing Russia out of global arms market take place – military expert Samus
Mykhailo Samus, military expert, director of the New Geopolitics Research Network and expert of the Center for Army, Conversion and Disarmament Studies, believes that the global reshaping of the geopolitical map is underway
He expressed this opinion in the Verdict with Serhii Rudenko program on Espreso TV.
“Global geopolitical changes are taking place now. The global geopolitical map is being reshaped. China, India, and Egypt are positioning themselves as new world leaders and don't want to join Russia's war with Ukraine, nor do they want to join any of the parties. Regional leaders and countries claiming global leadership are changing their positions, trying to determine favorable conditions for themselves,” Samus said.
According to the military expert, important changes that are pushing Russia out of the global arms market are indeed taking place now.
“For example, India is now buying Russian oil at a big discount, but says it is acting in its own national interests. They are continuing projects that they started with Russia in the defense industry, and they will no longer sign and conclude new projects with Russia, considering such steps risky in the future. The same will happen to most countries in the world that will not risk their reputation. Russia is losing its technological advantages that it had in the markets of India and Africa in cooperation with China. Really important changes that are pushing Russia out of the global arms market are happening now,” Samus emphasized.
