British intelligence points to the most vulnerable area of Russian defense at the front
Svatove city in the Luhansk region has turned into the most vulnerable area of defense of the Russian army at the front
The British Ministry of Defense reports on Twitter.
British intelligence draws attention to the fact that for the past seven days, intensive artillery firefights have been going on around Svatove in the Luhansk region. As in other parts of the front, Russian forces continue to prioritize construction of defensive positions and are almost certainly partially staffed by poorly trained conscripts.
With Russia's southwestern front line now easier to defend along the left bank of Dnipro river, Svatove is likely to be more vulnerable operational flank for Russian forces.
Britain's intelligence agency concluded that Russian troops are likely to view maintaining control over Svatove as political priority. However, Russian commanders are faced with military realities of maintaining reliable defense, as well as trying to provide resources for offensive operations south of Donetsk. Both Russia's defensive and offensive capabilities continue to suffer from acute shortage of ammunition and qualified personnel.
