Britain to supply AFU with heated tents and cold weather gear
By mid-December, the UK plans to supply heated tents and more than 25,000 sets of cold weather gear to help Ukrainian servicemen cope with plummeting temperatures.
Sky News reported the information citing the statement of the British Defense Minister Ben Wallace.
The UK is reportedly sending heated tents and extreme cold weather sleeping kits to Ukraine to enable the country's armed forces to operate and survive in low-temperature conditions.
The sets of clothing for extreme cold will be provided on top of more than 7,000 sets of normal cold weather kits that have been distributed as part of Operation Interflex, UK's programme for training Ukrainian forces. The kits contain a cold weather sleeping bag, bivvy bag and roll mat.
The minister said the items were being supplied in addition to "lethal aid".
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister of Great Britain Rishi Sunak commented on this decision and emphasized the importance of supporting Ukraine.
"We must also continue backing the Ukrainian people in their resistance to Putin's brutality. I'm pleased that UK-donated kit will be keeping the Ukrainian armed forces warm and safe as they face a perilous winter fighting for their country," Sky News cited the Prime Minister.
