Biden's visit is about betting on the winner
The visit took place only when the United States was convinced that Ukraine’s victory was inevitable
Few people understand the real purpose of Biden's visit to Kyiv.
It is not about weapons or negotiations. If Biden had needed to talk to Zelenskyy face-to-face, he would have simply asked Zelenskyy to come to Poland. And it is unlikely that the Ukrainian president would have refused.
This visit is about betting on a winner. The US president made his bet and will receive political dividends from Ukraine's victory.
Why only now? Because the stakes are too high. The US president cannot afford to lose. That's why he refrained from visiting after the battle for Kyiv, Kherson, and Kharkiv. The Americans were carefully considering their options. And the visit took place only when the United States was convinced that our victory was inevitable.
“The reputation of the US President himself is now at stake. He will do his best to support his bet. Ukraine will get everything it needs to win. There is more certainty in the outcome of the war”
Now for the consequences. After such a public gesture, Biden is no longer just somewhere in America giving us weapons. Now the US president is in the same boat with us. If we win, he wins, and if we lose, he loses. Given that the US elections are just around the corner, the war with Russia will be a key topic. Any option for ending the war other than Ukraine's victory will be a disaster for Biden and the Democrats in the election.
To summarise, the reputation of the US President himself is now at stake. He will do his best to support his bet. Ukraine will get everything it needs to win. There is more certainty in the outcome of the war.
