US President Joe Biden will persuade Netanyahu not to launch a ground operation. Biden has no other choice now, he will deter Israel

This opinion was expressed by orientalist Mykhailo Yakubovych on the Espreso TV channel.

"Biden will work in a way to deter Israel from a full-scale ground operation. Israel now needs support from the West, weapons from the US, Germany and other countries. Therefore, Biden has certain arguments as for escalating the conflict," Yakubovych said.

Israel may not agree to this. According to the orientalist, there is a possibility that Netanyahu will bend his line to avoid looking like a loser. But Biden now has no choice but to extinguish this flame.

"Anti-American sentiment in the Middle East has increased significantly. The West, including Biden himself, has done a lot to try to unite and win over the Global South. And the situation with the Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip leaves many countries with no choice but to take an "anti-Western course". Therefore, Biden will have to find a way out of the situation in such a way that Israel emerges victorious and does not spoil its relations with its neighbors. Because the continuation of the strikes on Gaza will certainly call into question the normalization that has been taking place for 5 years," emphasized Mykhailo Yakubovych.

If a ground operation is not launched by November, then negotiations are likely to take place. Peace is possible, the end of October will be decisive. But if the operation begins in full scale, there will be no turning back, Yakubovych believes.

"Obviously, Biden is trying to warn Netanyahu against this, because he is definitely not interested in such a war. It seems to me that Biden's visit is the last chance for a more or less balanced plan of action. If Israel does not take advantage of this, we will see another bloody war, the consequences of which will be felt far beyond Israel," Yakubovych concluded.

  • U.S. President Joe Biden was scheduled to meet with the King of Jordan, the heads of Palestine and Egypt in Amman on Wednesday, October 18, but canceled the trip due to the mourning in Palestine for the victims of the hospital attack in Gaza

  • On October 18, US President Joe Biden arrived in Israel and met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Biden said that the strike on the hospital in Gaza did not appear to have been carried out by the IDF.
