"Biden of 5th generation" or how White House "adjusts" Ukrainian victory date
Military aid to Ukraine is in sync with Biden's campaign plan, and that's good news
With the sound of sirens in Kyiv, Joe Biden effectively began his campaign for a second presidential term. "Uncle Joe" is focusing on the "Ukrainian case" as one of the key themes of his campaign. Not only the fact of Ukraine's victory but also the nearest victory date is important to him.
On Saturday, the President of the USA once again stirred the waters, repeating: "Zelenskyy does not need F-16s at the moment." However, this seems to be the rhetoric of the last political season, and it's time for new messages.
The Deputy Secretary of State, Victoria Nuland, stunned the public the other day: the US is considering transferring not only fourth-generation (F-14, F-15, and F-16) but also fifth-generation combat aircraft (F-35) to Ukraine.
The United States announced a new package of military aid to Ukraine worth $2 billion, which includes many "goodies", ranging from ammunition for HIMARS and 155 mm shells to laser-guided missile systems and upgraded Switchblade 600 kamikaze drones. The United Kingdom, the United States' closest ally in Europe, is also preparing many important "yummies" for the Armed Forces.
Nuland also announced the creation of a strong, integrated air defense for Ukraine with new systems.
“Ukraine's victory is well within the expectations of the American electorate, so the Democrats will try not to lose this case to the Republicans.”
Ukraine's victory is well within the expectations of the American electorate, so the Democrats will try not to lose this case to the Republicans.
Many Republicans, from the "ordinary" congressman Michael McCaul to the leader of the Republican Party in the Senate, Mitch McConnell, talk about the need to give Kyiv everything it needs, including the F-16. Of course, the embattled "Trumpists" with an anti-Ukrainian position have not gone anywhere, but they are not in trend today.
The Democrats don’t really have much choice: during the presidential race, they can either give up the laurels of being Kyiv's staunchest supporters to the Republicans or continue to support Ukraine. Since the stakes are high, it's hard to imagine the White House freezing over Ukraine. On the contrary, today the Pentagon is analyzing how to shorten the duration of the war in Ukraine. Therefore, they are preparing new arsenals for transfer. It doesn't matter if there will be fighter jets; there will definitely be everything necessary to defeat the Russians.

It's essential to note that we shouldn't "bite" into every "import" message about the war in Ukraine, perceiving it as the final answer. Politics is a game that cannot always be played logically. In the case of the President of the United States, we shouldn't expect him to make a sensational statement about F-16s in a random interview or tell this to a random female journalist while descending from a helicopter.
Military aid to Ukraine is in sync with Biden's campaign plan, and that's good news. Therefore, we’ll get important statements and expected "yummies" according to the political calendar.
Another piece of good news is that the world's largest military arsenal is committed to helping Ukraine achieve victory without postponing its date.
