Berlin authorities refuse permission for exhibition featuring destroyed Russian military equipment, Ukraine's Ambassador demands they reconsider
Ukraine's Ambassador to Germany Andriy Melnyk has reacted to the cancellation of an exhibition of destroyed Russian military equipment that was planned to be held in front of the Russian Embassy in Berlin, and called on the city's mayor to reconsider the decision
The publication Der Tagesspiegel wrote about this, and the ambassador commented on the situation on Twitter.
According to the publication, two museum operators wanted to exhibit Russian military equipment destroyed in Ukraine in Berlin, but their applications were rejected.
"Destroyed Russian military equipment, which will be exhibited in the very center of Berlin, should allow people in Germany to experience with their own eyes the brutal war of destruction", Andriy Melnyk told Tagesspiegel.
The ambassador also called on the mayor of Berlin to withdraw this decision and give permission to hold the exhibition.
"This cancellation is a real scandal! I appeal to the ruling mayor Franziska Giffey and the Mitte district administration with a request to withdraw this strange decision and allow a tank exhibition in Berlin. This would mean true solidarity with Ukraine", he wrote on Twitter.
