Belgian government approves largest military aid package for Ukraine worth €92 million
Belgium is allocating the largest military aid package for Ukraine worth €92 million. In addition, the country will donate €69 million in humanitarian aid
This was announced by Prime Minister Alexander De Croo.
"In general, our country has already provided (Ukraine - ed.) with military assistance worth €146 million. Today, the Council of Ministers has decided to send a new package of military aid to Ukraine worth €92 million," he said.
According to Belgian Defense Minister Ludivine Dedonder, the package includes air defense missiles, anti-tank missiles, machine guns, grenades, ammunition, trucks and armored jeeps.
She added that some of this will be taken from the Belgian Defense Ministry's warehouses, and some will be purchased from private companies. The Defense Ministry also will send fuel to Ukraine and provide training for the Ukrainian military.
Belgium is also allocating €69 million in humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
"The human suffering of the Ukrainian population and the material damage in Ukraine are incalculable," said Minister of Development Cooperation Caroline Gennez.

On January 25, the German government decided to transfer Germany's Leopard-2 main battle tanks to Ukraine. Germany also authorized partner countries to provide Ukrainian defenders with German tanks from their own stocks. As a result of recent negotiations, Ukraine expects to receive about 100 Leopard tanks from 12 countries.
