Belarusian Security Council tells when Belarus may receive tactical nuclear weapons from Russia
The timing of the transfer of tactical nuclear weapons from Russia to Belarus will be determined by the leaders of the two countries - Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin
This was stated by the State Secretary of the Belarusian Security Council Alexander Volfovich, Belta reports.
"When the decision is made, our leaders - the Supreme Commander of the Russian Federation and the Commander-in-Chief of the Belarusian Armed Forces - will make it. The decision is up to them," said Volfovich in response to a question about when nuclear warheads will be brought to Belarus.
At the same time, he believes that it will not come to the use of nuclear weapons.
"Tactical or strategic nuclear weapons are primarily intended to prevent, to ensure the security of both Russia and Belarus," Volfovich said.
- Earlier it became known that Russians are building a storage facility for tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus.
