Australian troops to help train Ukrainian forces in fight against Russia, as more Bushmaster vehicles sent to war
Australia will send 30 Bushmaster armored personnel carriers to Ukraine. Australian troops will also go to Great Britain to train the Ukrainian military
This is reported by ABC with reference to the statement of the Prime Minister of Australia Anthony Albanese.
"Australia has been unequivocal in its bipartisan support for Ukraine and its condemnation of President Putin," Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said.
It is noted that Australia would send 30 Bushmaster armored personnel carriers to Ukraine, as well as deploy up to 70 instructors in Britain to train the Ukrainian military. Australian troops must strengthen the defense of Ukraine against the brutal invasion of the Russian Federation.
"We will continue to stand up for freedom and democracy," the prime minister added.
A contingent of up to 70 Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel will join the British led multinational training effort known as Operation INTEFLEX just after Christmas, but will not enter Ukraine. The commitment is part of a second package of support announced by the Albanese government, which includes an additional 30 Bushmaster protected mobility vehicles.
"Our soldiers will be part of a large training program in the United Kingdom to help prepare their Ukrainian mates for their struggle against Russia's unwarranted and unlawful aggression," Defence Minister Richard Marles said.
This week's federal budget earmarked more than $200 million for additional help for Ukraine, including $185.6 million of Defence assistance delivered from within existing resources.
Australia's total financial support for Ukraine now tops $655 million, including $475 million on military assistance for the war-torn nation.

On August 11, a new Bushmaster electric armored personnel carrier was developed in Australia. They decided to place the elements of the power plant under the hood, replacing the internal combustion engine with it. At the same time, the new variation of the vehicle will work more quietly than the classic version with diesel engines.
