Austin at Ramstein: Ukraine must receive weapons without interruption, USD 675 million aid will include missile, artillery and anti-tank equipment
The United States of America is allocating a new military aid package to Ukraine worth USD 675 million.
US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin announced during a meeting at the Ramstein Air Base.
"Aid to Ukraine will only continue, in particular, we are talking about more than $600 million of additional aid. The administration of the US president has been actively working since October of last year to help Ukraine strengthen. We are talking about aid that is invested in missile convoys, artillery, anti-tank systems, assault rifles, etc”. Austin said.
The US Defense Minister also emphasized that the United States of America are about to organize its defense base so that it meets the needs of Ukraine, because all the necessary weapons must be delivered on time.
"We are determined to ensure that Ukraine receives weapons without interruption, to find new approaches to strengthen support. And also to provide Ukraine with all the weapons that it will need in the future. We want to adapt our defense base to meet Ukrainian needs. This applies to the production of weapons, as well as its modernization. We also see the success of our efforts reflected on the battlefield," he said.
Austin also recalled that after Ramstein-4 in July, Ukraine received new supplies of missile launchers, HIMARS systems and £2.5 billion in aid.
"Additional aid packages are already being developed and a separate gratitude to the German Ministry of Defense for supporting and strengthening the defense power of Ukraine," Austin said.
The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, said in a social network system Telegram that the United States will provide Ukraine with a new package of "military aid" worth $675 million.
