This is reported by the Politico newspaper.
According to the article, former commander of US forces in Europe General Ben Hodges said that ATACMS missiles for HIMARS systems are "exactly what Ukraine needs now". Longer-range weapons will allow striking key Russian positions such as the Kerch Bridge, Russian air bases in Crimea and communication lines.
According to the publication, Zelenskyy raised this issue during talks with Biden, but the White House refused because it views the weapon as “too escalatory”.
In the same article, Politico writes that Zelenskyy asked for tanks and aircraft at a meeting with Biden, but did not receive consent.
