Assault fighters of the 128th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed a Russian tank from a distance of 4.5 km "Stugna"
Soldiers of the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Transcarpathian Brigade destroyed a Russian T-72 tank from the Ukrainian anti-tank missile system "Stugna"
This was reported by the brigade, reports Espreso.West.
"21 seconds passed from the moment the shot was fired until the tank was hit. The missile from the "Stugna" ATGM flies at a speed of 200-220 meters per second, therefore, the invader tank was at a distance of about 4.5 kilometers. At the same time, it did not stand still, but moved, however, this did not prevent the ATGM operator from getting into it", the message says.
The brigade explained that neither the Swedish-British NLAW anti-tank system (it is most effective at short distances, up to 600 meters), nor the American Javelin (which is effective up to 2.5 kilometers) work for long distances. And our "Stugna" destroyed a moving tank 4.5 kilometers from it.
In the video, you can see how an invader tank backs out of a caponier in a forest plantation, turns around and starts moving along the plantations, opening up stern with an engine compartment for our fighters. After being fired from the "Stugna", the missile rapidly approaches the tank and hits it.
Reference. ATGM "Stugna-P" was developed by the Kyiv design bureau "Luch". The caliber of the missile is 130 mm, the maximum range of fire is 5000 m. The complex is semi-automatic with a laser guidance system. The operator can control the "Stugna" remotely from a shelter 50 meters from the ATGM.
