Denmark has announced an aid package requested by Ukraine, which includes ammunition for small arms, heavy machine guns, anti-tank mines, and anti-aircraft missiles. It is financed by the newly created Ukrainian Fund and is valued at one billion Danish krones, which is more than $140 million.
"I am very pleased that a broad majority in the Danish parliament has united to help Ukraine in its fight for freedom. We are sending a large donation package of DKK 1 billion. Ukraine is short of ammunition, so the aid package includes equipment that Ukraine has very specifically requested. I am proud that we in Denmark can meet this request," said Acting Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen.
The new military aid package for Ukraine includes:
- Ammunition for handguns: 5.56 mm ammunition for handguns;
- Additional 12.7 mm heavy machine guns;
- Additional large number of anti-tank mines;
- Propellant charges, arrestor tubes and incendiary tubes for 155 mm artillery ammunition;
- Additional missiles for air defense;
- Robots for bomb disposal in the amount of 21 pieces;
- 15 military generators;
- 8,000 hats and 15,000 sets of waterproof clothing;
- 6 hangar tents;
- 9 mobile workshops for the repair of large military equipment.
The Danish government has announced that this year the country will create a 7 billion krone ($1.01 billion) fund for military, civilian and business assistance to Ukraine.
