Ukraine's state budget receives $20.2 billion over 6 months: sources of funding
Between January and June 2024, Ukraine's state budget received $20.2 billion in funding from the US, EU, Japan, Canada, and the International Monetary Fund, among others
Ukraine's Ministry of Finance reported the information.
"External financing amounted to USD 13.8 billion. The European Union, Japan, Canada, and the IMF are the largest donors of budgetary aid for this period," the statement says.
At the same time, Ukraine received USD 6.4 billion from domestic government bonds, and the issue of government bonds helped raise USD 1.4 billion for the Ukrainian budget in June.
The agency emphasizes that last month the volume of external financing increased due to a tranche of more than USD 2 billion from the European Union under the Ukraine Facility.
"In total, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, international assistance has reached USD 87.4 billion, and funds raised from the issue of government bonds have amounted to more than USD 29 billion," the Ministry of Finance adds.
- On June 7, Ukrainian Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko said that Ukraine's security and defense sector was fully funded.
