Spain to provide Ukraine with Hawk air defense systems

The Spanish Defense Ministry’s website states this.

On July 24, Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles held a working conversation via videoconference with her Ukrainian counterpart Rustem Umerov.

In particular, Umerov spoke about the current situation at the front and the urgent needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

At the same time, Robles spoke about future deliveries of military aid to Ukraine and the progress in training the Ukrainian military - 5,000 soldiers have already been trained.

She also announced the following necessary assistance. Spain plans to provide a fully operational Hawk anti-aircraft battery to Ukraine in September. This will increase the capacity of the Ukrainian air defense.

Robles also emphasized the importance of humanitarian support for Ukraine. Spain will provide a facilitated transfer from Poland for orphans and relatives of Ukrainian soldiers to spend a few days in Spain.
