Abrams tanks may form part of upcoming military aid to Ukraine - Zgurets
Defense Express analyst Serhiy Zgurets believes that in the near future Ukraine's Western allies may start providing heavy weapons for offensive operations.
He expressed this opinion with Espreso.
"In general, the package of military aid from the US in the amount of $800 million fully meets the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The main thing is that decisions about such packages of military aid are made more often. I believe that Ukraine will continue to receive such powerful packages of military aid until the start of the Lend-Lease program," explained Zgurets.
The analyst said that the packages of military aid to Ukraine may soon include heavy weapons for offensive operations.
"A number of American bloggers and analysts say that in further packages of military aid to Ukraine, in particular under the Lend-Lease program, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be able to receive weapons for offensive operations. They even talk about a large number of M1 Abrams tanks and other heavy weapons. Such weapons are a necessary condition for the formation of our offensive capabilities," he added.
