450 children killed and 867 injured as a result of Russia’s war in Ukraine
From February 24 to December 23, 450 Ukrainian children were killed and another 867 suffered injuries of varying severity as a result of Russian aggression against Ukraine
This is reported by Ukraine’s Office of the Prosecutor General.
"More than 1,317 children suffered in Ukraine as a result of Russia’s full-scale armed aggression," the Office writes.
As of the morning of December 23, the number of child victims amounts to 450, and the number of injured to 867.
The data is not final, as the fighting continues, and the authorities keep on gathering information from the temporarily occupied and liberated territories.
The largest number of children injured is in the Donetsk region, it amounts to 428; in the Kharkiv region - 267; in the Kyiv region - 117; in the Mykolaiv region - 80; in the Zaporizhzhya region - 80; in the Kherson region - 74; in the Chernihiv region - 68; in the Luhansk region - 65; in the Dnipropetrovsk region - 40.
Over the last day, on December 22, 2 boys aged 3 and 15 were injured as a result of Russian shelling of Mahdalynivka village, Zaporizhzhya region.
Moreover, an 8-year-old girl was injured in Marhanets, Dnipropetrovsk region.
"Due to bombing and shelling by the Russian armed forces, 3,126 educational institutions were damaged. Out of them, 337 were completely destroyed," the prosecutor added.
